    DESCRIPTION OF DANCE STYLES

    HIP HOP

    This category dance compositions have to be created by using Hip Hop dance styles. Locking, Popping, House, Krump, Waacking, Vogue and Bboying styles are allowed to be used, but they cannot dominate in the performance. Various acrobatic stunts are allowed. Raises and the use of decorations are forbidden. Hip Hop, New Jack Swing, Glitch Hop, R’n’B, G-Funk, Reggaeton music can be used.

    STREET DANCE SHOW

    This category dance compositions have to be based on Hip Hop, Locking, Popping, House, Bboying, Krump, Waacking and Vogue dance styles choreography and technique. Other dance styles can be used, but they should not dominate in the performance. The composition must have a clearly visible theme or an idea throughout the whole performance. Various lifts, acrobatic tricks, decorations and so on can be used in this dance composition. Solo parts are allowed, but they should not dominate. Hip Hop, New Jack Swing, R’n’B, G-Funk, Reggaeton, Pop, Breakbeat, Funk, Electro, Disco, House, Dub Step, Glitch Hop, Techno music can be used.

    POP DANCE

    Pop Dance is a fusion of different dance styles associated with stage shows and live performance. It combines movements from several dance styles, including hip-hop, jazz, street dance and contemporary dance. This category dance composition can be without a theme or an idea. Various lifts, acrobatic stunts, decorations and so on can be used in this choreographic composition. POP, New Jack Swing, R‘n‘B, G-Funk, Reggaeton, Funk, Electro, Disco, House, Dub Step, Glitch Hop, Techno music can be used.

    BABY DANCE

    Baby Dance age groups will not be divided into separate categories by dance styles. Children can perform choreography of various dance styles. The teacher can dance with the children if necessary. Lifts and acrobatic tricks are forbidden. Music selection is unrestricted, but should correspond with age divisions.

    SHOW DANCE

    This category dance compositions have to be created by using Jazz, Classical ballet, Contemporary, Character dance, Folk stage dance and Modern dance styles technique. Other dance disciplines can also be used, but can’t dominate in the showcase. Ballroom, Latin or Rock’n Roll are excluded. Performance always has to have a guideline, visible story, theme or idea. Various lifts, acrobatics stunts, decoration, props, lip-sync and other theatrical effects are allowed. The dance compositions must have Show Value.

    CONTEMPORARY DANCE

    Contemporary dance emphasizes creativity, emotional expression, and freedom of movement rather than following strict rules. It combines elements from ballet, modern dance, jazz, and other movement forms. Other dance techniques are not recommended. The composition must have an idea or a theme. Various lifts and acrobatic stunts are permitted and should correspond with age divisions and the movement skills of the dancers. Decorations are not recommended. Music selection is unrestricted. The costumes must be connected with the theme and age of the performers.

    FOLK/ CHARACTER DANCE

    Folk character dance is a theatrical dance style based on traditional folk dance from different countries and cultures. It preserves the characteristic movements, music, and spirit of folk traditions while adapting them for stage performance. Traditional /authentic costuming and music is expected. Various lifts, acrobatics stunts, decoration, and other theatrical effects are allowed.

    LATINO SHOW DANCE

    This category dance composition created by using Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Kizomba, Zouk, Samba, Rumba, Cha-cha-cha, Paso Doble, Jive, Arg.Tango dance techniques, which can be mixed with the other dance style, but not accentuated on it. During the dance routine you can dance alone or in pairs, use various lifts, acrobatic tricks, etc. The composition must have theme or an idea. The clothing must be matching with the theme of the performance and should correspond with age divisions.

    FREE DANCE

    The Free Dance category is open to all other dance styles, genres and techniques that do not fit the description of other styles of the competition. Music of various genres can be used. Acrobatic tricks, lifts, decorations and other props are allowed.

    CLASSICAL DANCE

    Classical dance performance must be based on classical ballet technique and vocabulary, can be performed with pointe. Choreographies may be inspired by traditional ballet repertoire or be original works created in a classical style. The performance should demonstrate: correct classical ballet technique and body alignment; musicality, coordination, balance, and flexibility; artistic expression and interpretation of the music; quality of movement, grace, elegance, and stage presence; appropriate costumes and overall presentation consistent with the classical dance style.
